I am a direct descendant of the William Thomas you're asking about.I have a book published in 1891 by A.R. Thomas titled "Genealogical Records and Sketches of the Descendants of William Thomas of Hardwick, MA."F.A. Davis, Publisher, 1891.
The book is listed in the Library of Congress and I have e-mail corresponded with a person that obtained a copy.Mine is in very poor shape.It does not have Patience's last name but all the other facts you listed match exactly.
