Joanne,
I think the assumption that the marriage you mention is Jacob Thrash's marriage is reaching a little deep by some researchers who have run into the stone wall of dealing with the German surname Thrash. The difficulty of tracing the movements of Jacob and his brother Valentine from Maryland into and around Virginia and North Carolina is compounded by the various spellings of the name by English speaking recorders.I have positively found the name spelled Thrash, Thrush, Trash, Tras, Fresh, Frish and Frash. The name was most likely Treisch, the name of the probable father (Martin Treisch) of Jacob who moved into Baltimore, MD, in the 1750's.The date of 1768 is too late anyway, unless Catharine was a second wife.Jacob's son George was born around 1766, and Jacob Junior and probably one daughter were older than George.
