Many, many thanks for your reply to my query.I am not a kinfolk but just a "Civil War Nut" zeroed in on the 7th Reg. Kentucky Cavalry, U.S.A.It is interesting to note that Sgt. Mordecai Throckmorton's brother, Thomas (b. 4 May 1836), married a daughter of 1st Lt. (Captain?) James W. Brewer of the same regiment and company. Here is what I have found about him:
James W. Brewer, found in 1870 Federal Census of Robertson Co., Kentucky age 55 (1815), m/w., b. Ky., locale Mitchell's Mill Pct., buried: Mt. Olivet.[Series m593, Roll, 496, Part 1, Page 419A].
I imagine the pension records of either of these old veterans would reveal much about their family connections. Many times the applications will get quite descriptive of the circumstances and georgraphic location when wounds or injuries were received.
