Tilleys in Maryland, to Virginia?
I have tried to link an Edward Tilley in Baltimore County,Maryland to the Tilleys later in Virginia, but have not found anything that leads to this. The Edward Tilley I found in MD was there in the late 1600s and early 1700s, but then I found an Edward Tilley in Maryland, Baltimore County, in 1773!At this time I do not think that this Edward Tilley is connected to the VA or NC Tilleys.
I have a very plausible 'find' of Tilleys in Essex County, Virginia in 1703, but where they came from, I am not real sure.I have found Tilleys in VA earlier,1600s, inMiddlesex, and Old Rappahannock, and do assume these are the same ones in Essex in 1703.
Has anyone any data that realistically indicates when the Virginia/ North Carolina Tilleys came to America?Or, where were they before Middlesex, Old Rappahannock, andEssex County VA?
Thanks, Al
