Til(l)man-Morris connection
Can anyone shed any light on this mess:
In 18th, early 19th, and maybe late 17th century Virginia, every other Tilman man in my direct line married a Miss Morris. To complicate the matter further, two of those women were named Hannah. The father of the second Hannah was definitely named Hugh Rice, and that of the first Hannah may also have been. Then, although the father of the third Miss Morris, Teresa, had the first initial J (most likely for John or Jacob), a Hugh R. Morris signed her marriage bond. These marriages took place in Goochland, Albemarle, and Fluvanna Counties, and I suspect that it was the county lines rather than the people who moved. Can anyone help me figure out how Messers Tilman #s 2 and 3 (both named Thomas) were realted to their wives and ultimately to themselvs?
(Alic and Michele, it will be nice to hear from you again!)
