Around 2002/03 Mrs. Patricia Hansen (AZ), Dr. Larry Blackman (NY), and I (CA), went on a journey to track down the lineage of Justin. We did hit a huge brick wall in the mid 1800's, however, we were able to go back a few generations. We still have not been able to positively link his line to any of the major Timberlake lines yet.

Here is the line as we know it:

Mary (maiden name unknown)married a West.Much is know about this family.Mr. West died and Mary married a Timberlake (first name unknown).Mary A. Timberlake is listed on the 1870 Decature Co, TN Census with "Charlie" M, age 3.Mary died and Charles and the rest of Mary's children by her first marriage were put up for guardianship, Mr. William Boatright, guardian.

Charles Mitchell Timberlake was born on 6 June 1867 and died Jan 1929.He married (1) Mary Lee Turner in Mobile, AL in 1897 and had 1 child. He married (2) Eva J. Pirtle in Henderson, TN in 1904 and had 8 children, one being John Denham Timberlake.

John Denham Timberlake was born on 9 Sep 1910 and died 1 Dec 1991.He married three times, his first to Gladys Martin. They had four children, on being Reverend Charles Timberlake born in 1938, who is Justin' grandfather.

That's what we were able to come up with so far.

Note:Decature Co, TN records were destroyed by fire during the time period surrounding the Civil War.There are very few leads that have given any hint of who Mary West-Timberlake married. There is quite a bit of Timberlake genealogy of the VA, NC, TN line(s).Maybe the future will bring the primary evidence that links Justin's line with one of the TN lines.
