Karen,
My wife's great-grandmother was Luvisa Tindle, born August 15, 1846.According to the 1870 census for Saline County, Missouri, she was born in Missouri. In September of 1860 she married Josiah Jarman in Osage County, Missouri. She died April 11, 1904, and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri alongside Josiah.
I've not yet located info on her parents, however she does appear in the 1850 census of Osage County, Missouri as "Lavica Tindal", age 5 years. She was living in with the family of Epharim G. Briggs. oddly, several other Tindal children were also recorded that year living with other Osage County families.14-year-old James Tindal was with the James Robinson family.17-year-old Thomas Tindal was living with the Michael Suilson family. His sister Martha and her husband Thomas Quick lived next to the Suilson family. And in 1848, records show that Sarah Tindal, b. abt 1830, married Patrick Moore in Osage County. No adult Tindals have yet been found in my search of Osage County, Missouri records, so far. It's possible that all these young Tindals are brothers and sisters, but I have no idea what happened to their parents.
You're probably aware that the name Tindle gets lots of variant spellings including Tindal, Tindall, Tyndall, and Tindell, each of which has separate GenForum message boards for some reason. There are other spellings too, like Tyndale, for example.Hope this helps!Let me know if you have ancestors in this group.
