Isaac Tindall NJ and Hamilton Co OH c. 1770 - 1840
Seeking anyone else with a link to Isaac Tindall, b. New Jersey bet 1770 - 1780. Is in the federal census 1820 - 1830. Cincinnati city directory from 1825 lists an Isaac Tindall, laborer, born in New Jersey. By 1830 there are two Isaac Tindalls in the census, and later city directories list an Isaac Junior. In 1821, Isaac Tindall (presumably Junior) marries Catherine Conley. Also that year, Anna Tindall marries a Samuel Bond or Boyd, and in 1823, Margaret Tindall marries a man with the surname Sinclair. By 1835, a land record for "Isaac Tindal of Dearborn County, Indiana" appears for 40+ acres in Dearborn County (just across the Ohio from Cincinnati), but unsure if this is the same Isaac - in this period there are at least three Isaacs potentially in Indiana - besides this one, there's one from Kentucky and the other from Delaware. I can find no solid or even speculative census info from 1840 and beyond.
I believe the elder Isaac to also be the father of Robert, b. approximately 1800, marries Amy Kelley, daughter of Oliver Kelley, of Cincinnati. Robert first appears in the 1840 census in Randolph County, Indiana (along with presumed brother in law, Dennis Kelley), and in 1850 in Clark County Indiana, before moving to Shelby County, Indiana in 1852. There are a number of Tindalls in Shelby County by this time, but can establish no relationship at all at this time. According to a short bio of his son, John Tindel, in a late 1800s History of Johnson County, IN, Robert abandons the family prior to 1860 and presumably "heads west", no further record being found. My direct line goes back to this Robert.
Can find no one else researching this particular line. Anyone? Thanks so much!
