I am also a Tingen descendant.I am the genealogist for the Slaughter family and have written a book on them.Because the earliest Tingen in the U.S. in our family, Garrett Tingen, was married to Joanna Duncan, granddaughter of Jacob Schlotterer (Slaughter), all the Tingens are also descended from Jacob Schlotterer.I want to include all descendants in the next printing of my book, including all the Tingen descendants.Below is the information I currently have on your part of the family.I would appreciate it very much if you could send me any information you have on the descendants of James Monroe Tingen. As you can see, I need more complete dates, place information, spouses and more recent descendants.
By the way, I have other relatives who live in Lillington. My aunt, Bertha Kinton, lives just down the road from "Bonecrusher" Smith.I also have a cousin, Ricky West, who was working at a funeral home in Lillington. The last I heard, he was living upstairs in the funeral home.
