Titcombs are in my family tree. Andrew Titcomb He was the son of Deacon Benjamin Titcomb and Mary Pearson .In 1782 Andrew married Mary Pearson (1760-17960 his cousin and second cousin, she was the daughter of Daniel and Sarah Pearson Dole of Stroudwater Maine. Andrew was the older brother of Benjamin Titcomb, who was educated at the Governor Dummer Academy as well as at Newbnuryport. Later Benjamin became the maker of Mines first newspaper the Falmouth Gazette and weekly Advertisizer, first printting in 1785, the name of the town was changed to Portland in 1786, the name of the paper was changed to thje Cumberland Gazette.Andrew was storekeeper and lumber surveyor. Andrew and Mary's children were:
Sarah 1783-1840 her daughter Louisa was born out of wedlock, Louisa was a nurse in the civil war
William 1786-1787
Anne was wed to second and third cousin Moses Quinby a grad of Bowdoin College and an attorney
Mary Titcomb married Levi Quinby, brother to Moses.
Almira, who became the wife of Judge Luther Fitch of Portland in 1816.
The Titcomb family lived in the Captain Jesse partridge House of Stroudwater. It stayed in the family up until the 1930's when my mother was a little girl I have more info on the family plus a wax copy of the family crest stamp made proberly by my great-grandfather , they used it when sealing envelopes 207-883-3192 linda waterman
