Re: Harriet Woodfin Titlow
My information is that Harriett Woodfin Titlow was born January 13, 1875 in Eliz(abeth) City, Hampton Co., VA.
Her parents were Hettie House (Davis) and Capt. Jerome Titlow. Her father was a Civil War soldier credited with placing the shackles on Jefferson Davis at the end of the war. I do not know when Capt. Titlow died or where he is buried. Hettie Titlow died in 1927 and is buried in Springfield, OH along with Harriett, her sister Dr. Bennetta Titlow and their brother John.
The Titlows, especially Bennetta, were friends of the Burton J. Westcott family, residents of Springfield in the first quarter of the twentieth century. The Westcott family built a home in Springfield that was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It has been restored and is open to the public. I am a volunteer at the Westcott and do research.
May I ask what your interest is in the Titlows and if you have any additional information regarding them? I do have some photos of Bennetta, the three siblings home in Springfield and other information.
Would love to find out more.
