Doh! Actually, the *wrong* John Brabyn, went to Norfolk Island in 1796, but he did not die until 1835. My John Brabyn remained in Cornwall. Some confusion is caused, because the wrong one was born about 1759, and mine was born in 1760. The close ages and same wife's name makes it hard to sort out records that just give ages and a maiden first name, and an approximated plac - just the county.
The *wrong* Mary apparently died on Norfolk Island in 1796. MyMary died in Cornwall on 14-Mar-1823, from what I've been told. I don't have any sources for that though, so I would greatly appreciate something a bit more convincing.
