Tomasino inquiry...
Hello,
I'm trying to search out my Italian roots but have had no luck at all so I'm hoping someone can help or tell me how to get some information! I am trying to research my great-grandparents who came to the states from Italy around 1900. All I know is orally passed down from my father and his mother, who tried to find out some information for me from the D'Onofrio relatives but were not successful. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any information about a Francise (Francese?) Tomasino who came to America from Italy with her husband, James Ginoenzo D'Onofrio, and settled in Connecticut area. She had 15 children (Raphael, Michael, John, Andrew, George, Mary, Joseph, Susan, Dominic, Viola, Willy, Pasquina, James, Carmella, and Neglin) and died around 1930. My great-grandfather had his last name legally 'Americanized' to Donofrio sometime after he arrived. I was told that they had lived near Florence in Italy. If anyone has any information, or if any of this sounds remotely familiar, I would really appreciate it!
