Hi,

I have read with interest your posting concerning the Tomberlin - Carter families.I believe you will find John Tomberlin/Tomblin living in Clinton County, Missouri as a neighbor to Mary (Polly) Dowell & Lacy Carter.Lacy married to Patsy C Dowell, whom I believe was the daughter of Mary Tomberlin Dowell in 1829 in McDonough Co, Ill.Mary was said to have been the wife of George Dowell.John apparently has a wife at that point as there is a female living in his household.Can you provide any information on John before his arrival in Illinois?I am attempting to trace his line, as well as that of Mary and Lacy and Patsy's family.I lose them all after 1840.Since John Tomberlin is elderly at that point, he may have died before 1850, but I can't find any of the others either.Any help would be appreicated.Thank you.
