Hi Nell,
Do you have any information on the Tomerlins in Limestone Co., AL.My grandmother was
Gertrude Tennessee Tomerlin, married to Claude Finley Moore. My father always said
that she was from Giles Co. TN.I do not
know when she was born but she died in (or abt) 1935 in Limestone. My grandfather Claude Finley Moore was born Dec 11, 1888
& died in 1925.My grandfather went to prison for moonshining. I am not sure if he
died in prison or shortly after he got out.
Gertrude remarried to a Tribble. My father
Dallas Blackburn Moore, b 1912 in Limestone
had several brothers & sisters but they all
died at a young age. I do not know names orage of death. Gertrude and husband Tribble had one daughter, Irene, and was my father's only sibling that lived. (they are both dead now) Irene Tribble married Cary Summers and moved to West VA. I do know that the Moores
and Tomerlins lived in Coxey Community in Limestone Co.Gertrude had a sister Ellen
that married Sam Holmes. Uncle Sam was 106
years old when he died. Her name may have been Neely Ellen Tomerlin. Any help would be
appreciated.
Nancy
