Sallie Tomlinson (Ross C. Adams) - Kentucky
I have been looking for my ggrandmother Sallie Richards Tomlinson of Kentucky and came upon a scrapbook kept by Sallie E. Tomlinson of Danville, Ky dated April 4th, 1887.
Unfortunately she is not the right one. This Sallie married Ross C. Adams of, I think, Lexington, Ky the son of William Adams of the William Adams and Son Monument Co.
This Sallie is the daughter of Joseph Tomlinson (born I think in Plainfield, Indiana). He is related to a Moses Tomlinson of Plainfield, In. (there is a newspaper story with pictures of 'the old homestead' built by James C. Tomlinson in 1857 (Moses was his son). The article is undated but must have been about 1960 or so as the building was to be demolished and replaced by a gas station!
Some of Sallie's siblings were: Robert H a prominent late 19th century Ky politician,Judith (Mrs Melvin L. Harris), Emma (Mrs T. L. Mudd) and Bettie Tomlinson who never married. The book contains many obits and marriage announcements and much poetry and other articles from newspapers.
I would like to find a proper home for this book (more a collection of loose pages at this time). That would be with one of Sallie's descendants if possible.
If anyone has been researching this branch and is in contact with them, please respond.
