I am intrigued by your search for Eliphalet Tomlinson for the following reason:
My grtgrdfather, b ca. 1804 was Eliphalet Hewitt.
Eliphalet may seem to be an odd name but in my search, particularly in the seven New England states and their 64 counties 578 of the 29000 surnames had an Eliphalet.
Do you know the parents of your Eliphalet? and what else do have on him?
As may know a Sarah Tomlinson married John Hewitt(1750-1803).
I don't know anything on that Sarah and would also pick up on her parentage.
