Hello, Matt:
Your request for information on the Tompkins family coat of arms reminded me of just such an item that I saw on the beginning pages of a book authored by Robert A. Tompkins entitled 'Tomkins - Tompkins Genealogy & Clan of Tomkyns'.I believe there are two different family mottos given, both in Latin. The one I remember reads, "Nothing Is Great That Is Not Good."Please refer to Keith W. Tompkins posting on this forum dated July 19, 2000 and Barbara Reis' reply dated February 21, 2001 in which she recommends to Keith that he send e-mail to [email protected] to find out how to obtain copies of Robert A. Tompkins works.Of course you don't necessarily have to own the books to make copies of the famliy coat of arms in it.All you need is access to the book(s).As an aside I will add that I have read somewhere in this forum that there is evidence in the Tompkins family coat of arms that a family member fought in the Crusades. Please let me know the results of you research. It is all quite interesting to me.I am a descendent of John Tompkins who landed at Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1635 aboard the good ship Truelove.
Sincerely Yours,
Tim
