Re: Harrison Homer Tompkins - GA, AL, MS

I am looking to place Ruth Ann Tompkins, b Dec 23, 1836 and who died in Texas abt 1902.
She married George Washington Smith b Ga June 3, 1826 who died abt 1872 possibly in Taladega Ala.
Ruth Ann also had a sister, Eliza Jane who mar a Steven Claunch and moved to Live Oak Co Texas.

Who were their parents?I found a listing of a will in Talladega Co Ala, Will Book B Page 202:
4th Jun 1842.
Nancy Tompkins is appt guardian of Elizabeth and Nancy Tompkins, heirs of Thomas Tompkins, dec'd.,
with John Lawson and Leroy Hightower, securities.She is also appt guardian
of Thomas , Ruth and Matildy Tompkins.

Elizabeth could be Eliza and of course Ruth.In 1842 my Ruth Ann would only have been about six years
old.Were they from a first marriage?
