Hi, there was a Nancy Tompkins b. Apr. 18, 1818d. Apr. 28, 1818; she was the daughter of William Tompkins and Margaret Lobdell; they were from Michigan. Nancy was the niece of Gov.& VP Daniel D. Tompkins. William and Mary had a son named Daniel D. Tompkins b. Oct 7, 1831d. Nov 5 1832.There was a Col. Daniel D. Tompkins b. Nov 30, 1798 d. Feb 26, 1863 of New York m. Mary Perry Pierce in 1822; she was b. Sept. 20, 1801d. Jan 24, 1845; her parents were
William Pierce and Lydia Stevens. Daniel 2nd
m. Ellen Hirst Cornell on Jan 29, 1849; she was b. Jun 9, 1849 d. Nov. 13, 1883; dau. of Dr. John Sebring Cornell and Mary Fritz-
Randoph Lewis.He entered West point at age 16.Graduated 1820 and served in the Mexican Seminole and Civil Wars.They had a son Daniel D. b. Feb 12, 1844.
