Mary Tonkin married Edward Opie
Does anyone have anything on the Mary Tonkin that married Edward Opie (Oppy, Opey)?I show they married before 1730 at Saint Agnes Near Truro, Cornwall, England.(There are dates out there of 27 DEC 1747, but they had 4 other children born as early as 1730 - as mentioned in John Opie's biography his mother, Mary had 4 older children.)
References are from the biography of, John Opie "The Cornish Wonder" born 1761.He married Amelia Alderson who wrote the book in 1809 titled "John Opie and His Circle".
Throughout the book, it references John's parents, Edward Opie and Mary Tonkin.Mary had a brother named John.It also states they were from Trevaunance, St Agnes, Cornwall, England. It does not give any other Tonkin family names. It gives the age of his mother when he was born, which would make her born about 1713.
I haven't found anything else on Mary or John Tonkin, except Mary's marriage to Edward Opie.
