Jefferson Co., AR — Mary Bell Totty Bridges, 87, of the Sulphur Springs Community near Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012.
Born July 3, 1925 at Centerville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late James Campbell Totty and Mary Orton Totty.(Grandparents were William W. and Elizabeth Totty and William James Orton and Ella B. McCaleb Orton of Hickman Co., TN.)
Mrs. Bridges was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and retired from Ben Pearson Manufacturing after 39 years of service.
Her pastimes included quilting, yard work, and spoiling grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years,Herman E. Bridges, Sr.; eight siblings; a daughter, Mary Alice Irvin, and a granddaughter, Myra Bridges.
She is survived by her sons, Herman E. “Gene” Bridges, Jr. and wife Rebecca, Rodger Bridges and wife Dana, and David Bridges and wife Connie; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Graveside services were at Fitzhugh Cemetery with Pastor Billy G. West officiating on Dec. 01, 2012.
Brothers were William Douglas(Doug)Totty, Loyd T. Totty, and Cecil Brown Totty.
Sisters were Margaret (Baldwin), Francis (Copeland), Ann (Johnson), and Lilly (Muckleroy).
