Re: Edwin F. Townsend & David Townsend (1892-1935)

Edwin F. Townsend was the son of Dwight Townsend and Alice Doolittle.Edwin was born on 18 Dec 1877 in Iowa and died in New York City on 16 Oct 1948.He is buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Floyd Co., Iowa, as are his parents.To my knowledge he was an only child.He is shown in his widowed mother's household on the 1900 US Census, Floyd Co., Iowa as being an engraver.He is still shown in her household on the 1910 US Census, Floyd Co., IA and was a retail merchant in art goods.She died in 1914 so I suspect he left for New York City after her death.Hope this helps.
