Re: Happy New Year Travelstead Cousins
Yes I knew you meant Catherine (Kate). I have her b.12/27/1752 Catawba Co. NC, d.01/20/1842 Claremont Co. NC, married Martin Echerd/Eckard NC.
Children of Catherine and Martin:
2.Mary (Polly Eckard
4.Christian Eckard b.1795
I could be wrong but, what makes you believe she died as a young child?
Do you know where she is buried? Do you have a death date for her?
My records show the other Catherine (Christine) there is no proof of her first name born between 1760 and 1763 Pennsylvania died 1813 NC and married first to Godfrey Bolick/Bolch/Bolich and second to Christopher Collumbus.
My grandfather John Blaine Travelstead was born in Saline County, Illinois 05/18/1882. My g grandfather was William Jasper Travelstead. My gg grandfather Samuel was the son of William Travelstreet and Hannah Miers, William's 2nd wife. He would have been John Soloman Travelstead Sr.'s half-brother.
I know of the lawsuit William filed against George Mouser but......... then there was a child born to Katrine in 1811 named Abraham Travelstreet so it's unclear if she came home and lived with William again or maybe was pregnant with the child when she left. Have you seen divorce papers?
I know he married Hannah Miers in 1812 but it's unclear to me if he and Katrine were divorced or if Katrine died.
Although, I also believe there may have been a divorce because I have seen a copy of the lawsuit, I wish I knew for sure there was a divorce and I have found no death date for her. Of course there's always the possibility Abraham's birthdate of 1811 and other dates such as Catherine's are not correct.
If you can enlighten me further on any of this I would appreciate it.
The mystery continues,
