Re: Happy New Year Travelstead Cousins
You are absolutely correct about Kate. She is buried in North Carolina, Fritts told me he saw the tombstone on two different occasions 1989 and 1993.The last time he saw it he noticed it was broken. He was at a Travis reunion.I do not have these documents and letters on the computer, but last night I dug through my letters and documents to refresh my memory.
The area north of Newton, NC, which at the time was Lincoln County, now probably Catawba County, and the area between Liles Creek and Mcline Creek was the area that Fritts visited.I suppose this is the area where he located the grave.I do not know how to contact Fritts at this time. His line is through Fredrick. Some of the things I noticed while going through my records was a release of the lawsuit Travelstreet had against Mouser; as well as, the release of Catherine’s lawsuit against Travelstreet. The original lawsuit filed against Mouser was dated June, 1870, case No. 1343, in Warren County.I also have a copy of Christian’s citizenship records dated Oct. 1765, in Maccungy North Hampton.Elizabeth was baptized April 18, 1755, in the northern part of Montgomery County Pennsylvania.I also have a copy of Christian’s estate papers dated November 19, 1974.
I also have a copy ofMary (Maria) Treffenstatt’s will dated September 10, 1793.I also have a handwritten Philadelphia Court House record indicating Christian signed in on Sept 28, 1753.
Donna, I can tell that you are really into genealogy and you probably already have all of this material.I am 70+ years old, and spend very little time on genealogy.Perhaps there is something here you can use.
