Dear Gail Niether am I sure of that.In addition itis a good idea to take into account the fact that the Tailors were members of the Cordwainers Guild which also included the leather workers of all type of very useful articles and a powerful guild. to which several of the traills belonged, In Edinburgh there was Robert Traillarich merchant and a cordwainer and also another robert Trail who was a tailor. In St Andrews one of the sons (Thomas) of the second last John of Blebo was apprenticed as a tailor. He died of the plague. In Forfara lot closer to Kinnellwe have three brothers James (died September 1616) John and Alexander born to John of Forfar between 1570 and 1595 I have no idea what happened to them So truthfully Gail and George I am really hoping one of you finds a lead to unravel the problem of the Angus Trails, but yes they do all spell it with only one L outside of Dundee in the papers I have seen good luck Elsie
