Trent - English, one who came from Trent, Trespasser, after the overflooder of the river in Dorset, ie.... the river waters as a trespasser, one who lived on or near the Trent River in England.
In Irish terms, one seen as a trepasser on Irish lands.

Died at Brush Hill, Philiaph., PA on 8-4-1741. When he landed in America in Accomac Co., VA abt. 1700 he was first known as Mr. Andrew TRENT, and taught a classical school course!(WHY)?

William Woodson TRENT of WVA, Irene Gertaude, and Chester Hamilton

pg. 171 - under George Walter Jones, Ala, b.6-22-1866, generation #5 has Capt. William Gay of “Mt. Pleasant, Powhatan Co., VA, md. Frances Trent of VA; -under John Woodson, generation #6 has Elizabeth Woodson (b.1734), md. 1753 one Alex. Trent of VA (b.1753/54 - 1776/80), md. in 1769 Capt. Wm. Gay, see also generation #5.
generation #6 has an Elizabeth Bolling (b.1709), md. Dr. William Gay (d.1749) and had #5 (Capt. William Gay of VA)

Robert French of PA. I assume from the listing that there were French issue of- Elizabeth, David, David Thomas, and a second(?) David T.

pg. 302 - under Robert Tucker of Prince George & Dinwiddle Co., VA, we have as issue of 2nd. wife of Green Jackson (b.2-1-1790)(in VA) and who died in Brunswick Co., VA on 5-18-1829---(did not list, no Trent’s! BUT the 3rd. wife Temperance Jackson, his cousin in Sussex, VA, the daug. of Reuben & Hannah (Tucker) Jackson. She was born 11-12-1831 in Brunswick Co., VA, she died in TX in 1875. THEY had issue of 10 children, of whom #5 was a Martha Green Jackson (b.1-26-1820)(d.12-23-1878) and who md.1st. William Henry Trent (M.D.) and md. 2nd. Reuben M. Bonner of TX.
Green Jackson was the son of Lucretia Tucker & Ephraim Jackson. Ephriam (b.ca.1748) in VA and (d.8-28-1825) in Brunswick Co., VA! In ca.1775 he md. Lucretia. She was the daug. of Mary Green of Surry & Sussex Co., VA and Robert Tucker of Dinwiddle Co., VA.

(but we know now he ended up in Camden District and his plantation is now a Golf Course, so I would assume that was where it was)

pg. 35 - #329 - Elizabeth Reynold, daug. of Wm.(#316) and Mary (Perrine) Reynolds, md. to Peterfield Trent, had issue of- Wm. Reynolds Trent and Joseph G. Trent of VA.
pg. 34 - #316 - William Reynolds, son of Thomas & Susannah (Rogers) Reynolds of Henrico Co., VA. Wm. died on 10-25-1798 in Richmond, VA. HE md. Mary Perrine, settled in York Co., VA, then moved to Henrico Co., VA. They had issue of- Thomas, who settled in Charlestown, SC; Harriett who md. Southey Littleton Savage, George Norton who settled in Gloucester Co., VA and died in Charleston, SC, and Elizabeth Reynolds.
18) Can’t put it all in, but the 1987 edition of “Adventures of Purse &Person-Virginia-1607 to 1642/45 by Virginia M. Meyer & John F. Dorman, IS WONDERFUL!!!! Any one who deals in Trent’s should order this book!! I have had bits and pieces, but this wonderful to have it all.
