Re: Clara and Sigmund Troendle
Your message is a bit old but I hope you'll find my answer.
In my genealogy I have a Adolphe Jean TROENDLE (born June 20, 1862 in Forbach (France) and dead July 22, 1944 in New Orleans). He married one of my gg grand-mother cousins. And he wrote to my ancestor. I got some of these letters.
And even I'm still in relation with some of his great grand children.
As Troendle isn't a very common surname, my Troendle could be related to your ancestor.
Forbach is very near from the German border and according to the wars this city was sometimes French and sometimes German. Now it's French.
In one of his letters, in 1824, AJ Troendle talked about 4 sisters living in Europe (Paris and Forbach in France and Landau and Munich in Germany).
I suggest you could look at the Forbach registers and you might find some valuable information.
Unfortunately, even if I live in France, I'm very far away from Forbach and I can't go there for the moment.
