Paula,
I hope you know that the only way to do research (without other documentation) is to work backwards. If I can help let me know.Seriously, I have tried starting in the middle, it just doesn't work!
I worked back from Jennie (Maria Jane) Troke to get where I am now....It took me twenty years to prove they were on Anticosti, until the Canadian gov released the 1881 cnsus.
In the mean time I have met many wonderful genealogists with relatives from Garia, Newfoundland and perhaps someday we will all meet!I have met cousins in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia!
Start from the present and work back....meet all your cousins on this long journey.Don't be in a hurry. An email from an unknown cousin makes a sunny day a rainbow....makes a rainy day shine!
Both of my parents were only children.....to find a cousin is like finding a long lost brother or sister!!
Tykee
