Mary Troy b1801, Dublin
I've finally discovered my first Irish ancestor (I knew there was one in there if I kept looking). I put the surname into Google and found your site. I hope someone out there may be able to get me started in Ireland.
All I know about her is that she was born in Dublin in 1801, before emigrating to England between 1801-1828. She married Joseph Smith from Meanwood in Leeds, Yorkshire and had 5 children (at least) - George b1828, Samuel b1830, Ann b1834, Joseph b1836 and Francis b1838. It was from Francis' birth certificate that I found Mary's name.
Does anyone have my Mary on their tree or know how I can find how she arrived in England. I've found passenger lists going to the US, but not to the UK.
I know that a lot of the family records were destroyed in the civil war in 1821, and don't know where to go from here.
Can anyone help?
