Welcome to the Try Genealogy Forum!
Welcome to the Try Family Genealogy Forum. The last name "Try" is fairly unusual, and for good or bad, the number of individuals that we can find online is rather small.
My Try line starts in 1863 with William H. Try (b. 1838 Pennsylvania). He joined the 1st Michigan Light Artillery, 14th Battery in November, with a hometown listed as Kalamazoo.I have a small bible that was given to him by the Army inwhich he inscribed a message to his fiance, Harriet Hile(b. 1847, Michigan).
He survived the war, and they were married, moving to Nebraska to homestead on land set aside for veteran's of the Civil War.They had one Child, Arletta, (b. 1871, NE) who married Cassius Edward Budlong in NE in 1890.
William had a younger brother named Reuben S. that joined his Artillery unit as well.
Does anyone have any connections to this "Try" family?
