I had started compiling a Tubbs genealogy, but then found that MacCartney, the author of a source we had consulted back in the dark ages (the seventies) when we first started in genealogy, was still working on one and had made considerable progress. The last time I talked with him was several years ago, at which time he was preparing an article on the first 5 generations of Tubbs for the New England Historic Genealogical Register. (I don't think that ever came to be.)About that time he sent me a partial printout of his manuscript, from which I quoted in my first message. He hasn't answered any of the subsequent letters I have sent him, so either he is no longer active, is dead, is uninterested or is mad at me for some reason.I had offered to assist him in getting the genealogy completed and printed, and still think he should do so, but we're now out of touch.
His manuscript continued to include some of the children of Joel and Damaris (Tubbs) Barrows:Joel Estes, William Albert, Joanna Ellen, and Thomas Hiram were the only four he knew about at that time.He of course didn't follow non-Tubbs-named individuals any further than that.
