Earl F. Tullar of Simsbury/ W. Hartford CT.
I came across this clipping in my grandmother's scrapbook.I don't know of any connection to our Hart family of Watertown/Waterbury CT.Here it is...Earl F. Tullar, Apparent Suicide. The body of Earl F. Tullar, 42 of 11 Prospect Lane, West Hartford, was found in his apartment this morning. He was a former chairman of the Simsbury Zoning Commission.A rifle was found beside the body, according to West Hartford Detective Sgt. John F. Paulsen. Medical Examiner Roy Allen of West Hartford said the death "seemed like suicide."Sergeant Paulsen said Mr. Tullar apparently sat in a chair and rested the rifle on the floor, pulled the trigger and fell on top of the rifle. The bullet passed through his chest and heart and came to rest in the wall. The body was taken to Hartford Hospital for an autopsy.Mr. Tullar was one of the most prominent plumbing contractors in Hartford County. He did business as Tullar and Company. He was a popular resident of Simsbury before moving to Barkhamsted about a year ago, and still did a great deal of business in Simsbur."
This was marked in pencil, "August 1954", by my grandmother, Florence Hart Deane.Perhaps this may help one of the Tullar researchers.
