Turberville/Lamb/Higdon Connection
I am trying to locate any information on Emeline Lamb, daughter of Charlotte Turberville and Walker Lamb. The 1850 census for Franklin Co., Al shows her, age 17, living w/her mother, Charlotte and siblings Laban, Jesse, Joseph, Marion, and Walker.
This Emeline, I think, is my gggrandmother, who married an Allen Higdon. In an 1850 census index for Franklin Co, Al there are Higdons and Lambs listed, basically, in the same households and general area. However, I haven't been able to look at this census, yet.
My next spotting of Allen and Emeline Higdon is an 1870 Clark Co, Ar census with children James Walker, age 11; William H., age 6 and Roxian, age 1. I have been told there were two(2) other children--Monroe and Perry.Allen Higdon died in December, 1870, probably in Clark Co, Ar. and Emeline Lamb Higdon died in 1907, Logan Co., Ar.On this same census, I also found Charlotte Lamb, age 57, living with her son Walker and his wife Sally.
If there is any Turbeville out there that has further information on Charlotte Turberville Lamb, her daughter Emeline Lamb Higdon and this Higdon connection, please let me hear from you.
Thanking you in advance for any help....J. Estes
