I am also looking for information on the Turner family.
I have read but can't prove that John Turner & Vany Hopper were the parents of Pascal. Could this be an Indian name.
Here is what some of our researchers have found on John Turner who was my GGGgrandfather
John Turner married Vany Hopper August 24, 1806 in Grainger County, Tennessee
(Have copy of Marriage Bond)
Children of John & Vany (Hopper) Turner :

Gabriel signed sister Sarah and Dempsey Fielden marriage license.
In 1850 "our" John Turner is living in Knox Co., TN, deed of 1837 when he moved over into Knox
Co.show that Willis Warwick and Gabriel Turner were witnesses.

John Turner of Knox Co., TN was my ggg grandfather. On 1850 Knox Co., TN
census his wife is shown as Syloand. We have not been able to prove but
"believe" she is Vany Hopper who married John Turner, license dated 24
Aug., 1806 in Grainger Co., TN. Her age would have to be off in 1850
census. (sure would like to either prove or disprove her age)
Living next door to them were Milton Neil, Syloand, children: John W.
andMary M. This was John's daughter, Sylvania and her husband, James Milton
Neal. They moved with their children to Texas Co., MO, had several more
children. James died during the Civil War and Sylvania raised her family
there and is buried at the Liberty Cemetery, Texas Co., MO.
Sarah Turner married Dempsey Fielden (her father's name[John Turner]was
ondeath certificate, mother's name - blank)18 Jan, 1842 in Knox Co., TN.
According to death record of a daughter, Sarah was born in Anderson Co.,
TN. They were my gg grandparents. They also moved to Texas Co., MO and
areboth buried on what was Dempsey's homestead in Success, Texas Co., MO.
John Turner was on the 1830 Anderson Co., TN census but by 1840 had
moved a little way over into Knox Co., TN, deed shows Raccoon Valley.
20-30 also followed him there. Gabriel signed bond for Sarah and Dempsey
Fielden leading us to believe that he was a brother of Sarah and Sylvania.
Gabrielalso signed as witness to a deed for John Turner.George Petree was named administrator for John Turner, Jr when he died. Rebecca, his wife is shown on TN marriages as Rebecca Pittner but on actualmarriage license it is Petree. They were married 18 Jan., 1841. The sale for John Turner, Jr shows James Milton Neal as a buyer and there was a notefor Gabriel that had not been paid. This leads us to believe that JohnTurner, Jr was the son of John Turner who is living with wife Syloand.George Petree had married Cynthia Turner 23 Dec., 1838 Knox Co., TN. We believe that he was the brother-in-law of John Turner, Jr. They also named a daughter Laveny, also called Vany according to different censuses.Zilpha Turner married James Fielden 26 Sept., 1845. James S. Fielden, brother of our Dempsey Fielden signed bond with him. Zilpha died 21 July.,1912 in Ohio Co., KY. On death certificate her father is shown as James butbelieve it was incorrect and should have been John, mother was ? Hopper.1830 census shows that John Turner had at least 9 children if not more.Mercey is living at home on 1850 census, we have never been able to findher after that.
Children that we now believe were John's are:
Gabriel born c/a 1812,
Mercey born c/a 1814,
Cynthia born c/a 1818,
Sarah born 1822,
John, Jr. born
Sylvania born c/a 1826,
Zilpha born c/a 1827.
These ages were basedon 1850 censuses. We "believe" that there at least 2 more children, may bemore. 1
There should be a ? by Syloand Turner until we either prove or disprove
her age and know whether she can be mother or not. Her age has to be
off in 1850 census to be the Vany Hopper who married John Turner in
Grainger Co., TN. Since daughter, Sylvania "Vania" is shown as Syloand
in 1850 census also I "believe" that Syloand will be mother but we cannot say for sure until we can at lest either prove or disprove. I have been over all of the court records for that time but could not find anything about her at all or the senior John Turner either. There were
sales that John Turner purchased things but could not tell whether it was John Sr. or John Jr.
