This posting is a quote of the judgement of the Orphans Court of Greene Co,. AL dealing with the estate of James Turner. The document is dated 13 Dec 1828. Our thanks and appreciation are owed to Mary Loo Wardlaw for the original posting on 26 Nov 2010.
Therein, we learn Richard H. is the son of James and Mary ? and Mary is guardian to an Elizabeth Turner. Heirs to the estate of James Turner include Mary, Richard H., and Zachariah Wardlaw and James Stephens by virtue of their intermarriage with the daughters of the decedent.
It is proven that Richard H. married Elizabeth (Eliza)Wardlaw on 19 Jan 1825 at Greene Co. and Zachariah married Celia Ann Turner on 8 Dec 1824 while James Stephens married Edney Turner on 16 Jul 1825.
My records reflect Richard H. died early on 7 Nov 1836.His wife Mrs. Eliza is believed to have remarried to Richard M. Owen on 14 Feb 1839 at Greene Co..
1830 Census of Greene Co.,pg 53,shows on adjoining lines Mary Turner, age 40-50, with one other female, age 10-15 and Rich'd H., age 20-30, and his wife same age bracket along with 2 other females under age 5, another male child under age 5 and finally another male same age bracket as Richard. My records further reflect a daughter named Susan E. born 29 Oct 1829 at Greene Co.Names of other children are unknown.
My line of Turners believe this other male, aged 20-30 is a brother named Reuben S. Turner, the lost relative. Our line below Reuben is proven however his parents are unknown.
All other researchers are encouraged to validate or refute the above stated data, especially the clue we may have found Reuben S. finally and that he descends direct from James and Mary also.
