My grandfather, Noel (Natal) Tursi is the oldest and only surviving of five childeren (I think). He came to Brooklyn from Palo del Colo (sp?) Bari Italy in 1911 when he was 7. He is not feeling very well now, but was active and still driving a few months ago. He lives in Manhattan. His father, Joseph Tursi came over in 1907. They first lived on Park Avenue by the Brooklyn Navy yard where they bought ice that they sold on Ocean Avenue in Brookly by Prospect Park. When they passed away in the 70's they lived on East 18th Street near Aevnue M. My grandfather Noel Tursi later started the Kings County Stoker & Fuel Co. but sold it in the 60's and managed his real estate until retirement last year. My grandfather's younger brother Joeseph Tursi was an attorney on Court Street in Brooklyn who comitted suicide in the 50's. The younger brother Phillip lived on East 18th Street for many years before dying a few years ago in Florida after working for the Defense Department since getting out of the Army after WWII. The sisters, Connie and Francais, are also deceased - I don't know who or where thier childern live. My grandfater might know more - what can I ask him for you?
