Henry Tutwiler original manuscript
I noticed an auction on ebay right now for an original manuscript/diary of Henry Tutwiler.
A partial description from the site:
"There's a huge amount of content for the money here as I've never seen a smaller handwriting. Bound in half leather, the book measures approximately 7 inches wide and 8 inches deep. About 80% of it is devoted to a detailed account of his correspondence, ca. 1875-1880, both letters received and sent - along with dates, OCCASIONAL very, very brief comments about content and, in the letters received column, symbols - presumably as codes as to how and if he responded to each given correspondent. I noticed the name A J Pickettalong with many other historic Alabama - AND NATIONALLY KNOWN - names herein (including my great-grandfather!) but there are thousands of names listed (that would include duplicates of course). Tells a great story even though one doesn't have the original letters."
