Re: General David Emanuel Twiggs
Gov of Georgia David Emanuel was as I understand it recommended for that position by President Thomas Jefferson.
So I have a lot of coincidences here.
The Myers and Lewis family of Pittsburgh who are on the 1790 and 1800 Pittsburgh census records. They are recorded as boat builders 13 years before Meriwether Lewis had his boat built in Pittsburgh in 1803.Alexander Lewis has a boat patent on a special heavy duty keelboat that will travel in shallow water without tipping over. It was used to carry iron from Kentucky to Pittsburgh. The patent was issued to Alexander Lewis by Thomas Jefferson in 1789.
Then a known relative of John Twiggs Myers buried with these same Myers and Lewis families in Pittsburgh.
