John Underhill's father HUGH or EDWARD?

I have a John Underhill that married a Margery Wylmer in 1547. My notes are said to have come from the UNDERHILL GENEALOGY BOOKS or whatever the title is. They list John's father as being Edward Underhill. I have this line back to Abt. 1250 if you would like the information.
