This is my Boyd family. My ancestor was William Boyd, the oldest child, who was away from the house during the Indian raid when his mother Nancy Urie and her baby were murdered and the other children were taken captive.
The raid was 10 Feb 1756 and did not take place in Virginia as stated above, but more likely at Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
William BOYD married Nancy/Agnes Black and resided in Somerset County, PA.
David Boyd married Elizabeth Henderson and resided in Washington County, PA.
Rhoda Boyd married Robert Smiley and resided in Ohio.
