William Utley - 1790 & 1800 census in Cumberalnd N.C.

Henry Griffin married Edith Utley and his brother, Coleman Griffin, married Joice Utley.I’m trying to track down their father and have what appears to be a good candidate - Joseph Griffin.

I see Joseph Griffin and a William Utley reported in the 1790 Fayette Dist, Cumberland N.C. census and then again in 1800 both listed in Cumberland, N.C. (not township listed).

My question is which William Utley was living in Cumberland N.C. around 1790-1800 - Sr, Jr, other?Hopefully it was Joice and Edith’s father/family..

Any help much appreciated.
