You're confusing the different lines of Jones in Wake. There were at least 5 different Nathaniel Jones in Wake at the same time. Nathaniel Jones of Crabtree and his son Nathaniel Jr, Nathaniel Jones of White Plains and his son Nathaniel Jr, and my Nathaniel Jones of Middle Creek, son of Lewis Jones Sr and America Barnes. He did not have a son named Nathaniel Jr, or if he did, he died young and never left any records. Able Jones that you mentioned was one of his sons. I suspect but can't prove another son named John. He had triplet daughters named Delia, Dolly, and Dicey. The different Francis Jones have also been confused.

Lewis Jones Sr and America Barnes were not the parents of Darling Jones. I have never seen the name Darling Jones associated with the children of Lewis Jones Sr at all. If there is a record that proves Darling's father was a Lewis Jones, that Lewis must have been one of the other numerous Lewis Jones in Wake.

America Barnes was the granddau of Thomas Barnes of Edgecombe, named as such in his will. No son of Thomas Barnes who could have been her father has ever been found, and America may have actually been an illeg dau of Thomas Barnes' dau Mary Barnes (m Edward Tucker) who moved to the Swift Creek district of Wake. Edward Tucker was the bondsman for the marriage of Lewis Jones and America Barnes. There are several records in Wake that link Lewis Jones to Edward and Mary Barnes Tucker. There is a long string of Jones behind Thomas Barnes, but I have found no indication that Lewis Jones come from any of those Jones.

Henry Restore Jones, grson of Henry Jones Sr and Catherine Judkins, m Mary Ridley who was related to the Alridgton Jones family, but there was no previous connection between Henry Jones Sr and that line of Jones. Henry Jones Sr came from Surry Co, VA, son of William Jones Sr and Elizabeth who lived on the Nottoway River near Jones Hole Swamp. Henry Jones' mother Elizabeth was NOT a Ledbetter or Blight as you will see on many webpages. Her family is unproven.

Francis Jones, son of Henry Jones Sr, is frenquently confused with Francis Albridgton Jones. They are two entirely different men from two entirely different lines of Jones. Henry's son Francis moved to Edgecombe near his uncles' land where he married Elizabeth Huckaby, then moved to the part of Bladen Co that soon became Cumberland Co, then to GA where he died in 1774. There's a tremendous amount of misinformation on the web concerning this Francis Jones including claims that he was born in Isle of Wight and Wales. I'm organizing the records now to put on the web to prove what's true and untrue about him.
