Ellsworth Essex Vail Stockton Lucero Garule Phelps
Would like to know where Margaret Essex Ellsworth Fitch died and is buried. She was born 1832 Illinois lost track of her after the 1900 Cleo, Woods, Oklahoma census where she is with second husband Martin V. Fitch. (not to be confused with another Martin Fitch with similar dates)
Margaret's daughter Rebecca Suzannah Ellsworth 1852-1922 is thought to have married the husband of her aunt Sylvia Ellsworth (Albert Timothy Vail or Vale) in the late 1860's at Stark, Illinois. Would like to know more about Rebecca, I think I have a photograph of her.
A.T. Vail fathered a daughter by Sylvia before he married Rebecca; Cordelia Vail born about 1863 in Illinois. Not sure what became of Cordelia after 1880 where she was at Fort Herriman in Utah with her mother and sisters. Sylvia appears to have remarried a third time to a Mr. Whitmore.
Cordelia's sisters were Stockton girls from Sylvia's first
marriage to Robert B. Stockton in 1856 but may have gone by the name of Vail or Vale. I have no idea what became of Robert B. Stockton.
Sister, Phoebe married Joe Lucero and had some children, she married again to Don Garrule - they can be found in the 1900 census at Fremont County, Wyoming.
Sister, Mary Ester Stockton or Vail married James Newton Phelps of Kentucky, he might have died in Utah in 1932. Mary E. could have remarried to a Brown.
As a side issue I would like to learn what became of David Ellsworth the nephew of Rebecca Ellsworth by her brother John Eliphalet Ellsworth. David was born Sept. 1889 Scranton, Green, Iowa and is no where to be found after 1880, but might have still be alive as late as 1952 when his brother Fred died.
