James H. Vancil
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - James H. Vancil, 87, of Springfield, formerly of Morrisonville, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at James River Care Center in Springfield, Mo.
He was born May 27, 1919, in Morrisonville, the son of James O. and Ora Lyles Vancil. He married Lillian Kelley in 1948 in Springfield.
Mr. Vancil was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 681, VFW Post 4495, American Legion Post 721 and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, Lillian; son, Donald (wife, Jeanne) Vancil of Taylorville; two daughters, Becky Justvig of Springfield, Mo., and Carol (husband, David) Jackson of Florissant, Mo.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Loretta Goodall of Taylorville.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, Dr. Roger Rominger officiating. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
