VAN GENNIP family in Vinemount (now Leopold), Bollinger Co., MO.
Does anyone have additional information upon this family and the origins of Leopold, MO.? I have seen the book upon Bollinger Co. that says only Robert (Francis Lambert or Hubert) and Rosena van Gennip survive the cholera in Cincinnati, in 1852. However, there is a nine year old, George van Gennip, living with the SONDEREN family in the 1860 census. There is also a reference to an Alfred van Gennip who is executed by "Bushwackers" during the Civil War. Neither of these fit in with the story told in the Bollinger Co. book. Also, I can not seem to find any trace of the other surviving child, Rosena van Gennip, (mentioned as later marrying a Mr. A. PICKETT) described in that same book.
Can anyone help with these facts?
Sincerely, Franklyn G. Prieskop
