Thanks for the reply. My sister in WV has a book that gives information regarding the NC Vannoy's. I will tell you what I know, which isn't much, and when I find out more I will get back to you. My paternal grandfather was William J. Vannoy whose parents were Alexander (not sure) and Jane Colvard Vannoy. They lived around the Jefferson, NC area in Ashe County. I know William J. had four sisters, Annie, Ruby, Jane, and Mary. William J. moved to Southern WV to work in the coalfields. My dad, Vernon Vance, was born in Keystone WV. Annie never married. Mary did marry but I do not remember her married name at the moment. Ruby married a Frank Fisher from Granite Quarry, NC. Jane commited suicide when she was a teenager. Annie and Mary lived and died in Crumpler, NC outside of Jefferson. Great Aunt Annie always told me we were related to some Reeves in the area through her mother. Of course, I knew about the Colvard connection.Any information you have would be appreciated.
