Re: VanOoyen's from Antigo
I responded to a posting on a Civil War website. The poster was a Jim Van OOYEN. He wanted to know if anyone on the forum had more information about members of the 39th Inf. Regt (Kentucky) who saw service in and around the area of Sandy Hook, in Elliott County, KY. He believed that his great-great grandfather, Henry CRUM may have been buried in that region.
I'm helping a friend with her CRUM ancestry, and her grandfather Donald Louis CRUM came from Antigo. Her great-grandfather was Wales "Doc" CRUM, who also lived in Antigo, but came from Kentucky. Both are buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Antigo. Wales' grandfather was a Henry CRUM, who appears in the 1860 with his wife Sarah in Morgan County, KY. He is not to be found in the 1870. I'm wondering if this is the same Henry CRUM that Jim Van OOYEN is searching for ?
