William Homer VanPelt & Eva L. McKee VanPelt were my great-granparents...making Owen Taylor VanPelt and Hannah Dooley-VanPelt my Great-Great-Grandparents. I have been to their grave-sites in Van Wert (by Leon). I am very familar with that area...(I was born in Leon, Decatur Co.).
William Homer VanPelt was killed in 1936 in a work-related accident (Have Newspaper clippings)...(This was before I was born).
Eva L. McKee-VanPelt died in 1956...Eva was the daughter of Allen McKee & Elizabeth "Martha" Downy...Of Decatur Co., Franklin Twp. at the time Eva and William met. (I was 6 years old when Eva died in 1956...but I remember her well). She started teaching me Bible songs...rom the time that I was big enough to crawl upon her lap. Eva died in Wayne Co. (which sets next to Decatur Co.). Eva & William Homer VanPelt were the parents of my grandmother (Olive Marie VanPelt-Marks). I've been to William H. & Eva L. VanPelts grave-site many times... (Second Church Cemetery-also known as Antiocke Cemetery by Seymore, Iowa.
I realize that on that picture...Eva has been scratched out. I do have other pictures of Eva (at an older age though). I have Obits of both Willaim and Eva. ...and more imformation on Owen Taylor and Hannah. (Although...it is also available on the Leon, Decatur Co., Iowa web-site).
I have been working on this now...for a very long time...and I have stared at this picture...knowing that something was wrong in the labeling.
