Tomlison, Edward A., of Newtown, was born in Bensalem township, Nov 3 1832, s/o Charles and Sarah (Vandergrit). His grandfather, Jesse Tomlinson was born in Bensalem in 1766, and a descendant of the Tomlinsons who settled in Bensalem in the 18thc. He married Sarah, d/o Jonathan and Sarah Wilson, by whom he had 3 children; Jesse, Rhoda and Charles. The last named was born in Bensalem, Jan 20, 1803. His wife, Sarah A., d/o William B. and Christina Vandergrift, of Bensalem, whose paternal ancestors settled in Bensalem in 1679. Charles Tomlison had 3 children; Julia, married Elwood T. Craver, Elizabeth, and Edward A. Our subject was born in Bensalem, in 1880 he moved to Newton. He married April 28, 1864 to Rebecca A. d/o of James and Mary (Kinsey) Vanzandt. Her paternal grandparents were native of England and early settlers of Bristol. Her maternal grandparents, Samuel and Elizabeth Kinsey. Children; Irene, Carrie and Charles.
Vansant, Lendrum, of Feasterville. His great-grandfather was Capt. Nathaniel Vansant, Rev. war, who was taken prisoner by the British and confined to Staten Island. After his release he came back home to Brownville, where his father, Nicholas and his grandfather, Nicholas, had both resided. Nathaniel was born there March 13 1745, and died Aug 8, 1818. His wife was Hannah Britton, who was born Jan 16, 1746 and died Aug 19, 1818. Son, Nicholas was grandfather of Lendrum L. He was born Feb 23 1771 and died Oct 27, 1863. Their son Benjamin, father of Lendrum L. was born Feb 14, 1803 and died 1869. He was twiced married, first to Sarah Campbell, who was born March 7, 1810 and died March 10, 1853. His second wife was Jane Lukens. By the first he had Lendruml, Elizabeth R., Harriet P., and Charles. By the second, he had Benjamin.
